2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards-Best and Worst Dressed

There were many fabulous looks on the red carpet making it hard to decide who to feature however, here is just a glimpse of some of the best dressed of the evening.

Hannah Simone

This gown says “Grecian goddess!” The cream gown featured a flowered neck line with an empire waist by Marchesa. Simone looked stunning in this simple yet elegant gown that gracefully flowed as she walked the red carpet.

Sophia Vergara

This momma looked smoking hot in this metallic sequined fitted gown by Donna Karen Atelier. I love the intricate design in this dress and it reminds me of the the one Kate Beckinsale wore to the Golden Globe’s. You also can’t ignore the jaw dropping necklace by Victorian Amrapali.

Maria Menuonos

I have always loved Maria’s fashion sense and she didn’t disappoint when it came to this Rani Zakhem “sneak a peek” gown as I call it. The top half of her gown featured lace cut outs and criss cross bands while the bottom half was solid peach colored chiffon. It was sexy, a little daring, and still chic! The TV personality got it right!

Kelly Osbourne

I don’t know if I have ever seen her look more beautiful! Kelly looked amazing in this mermaid style Zac Posen blue gown. I think the vertical lines and the cut of this dress flatters her greatly. I hate to say it, but her hair color also made this look come together!

Honorable Mention goes Malin Akerman!
Malin was very noticeable in this gold embellished sequin gown by Naeem Khan and it was in a good way! This is a far better choice in dress than what she wore at the Golden Globe Awards last week (If you need a reminder check my “Golden Globe Awards Best & Worst Dressed” review). Love it!

Now, I’m not sure what the following celebrities were thinking when it came to their choice of gown for the evening, but here is a look of a few of the worst dressed.

Sufe Bradshaw

I honestly had never heard about the actress before the awards show and looking at her fashion statements over the last few years, I think she really thought this was an award winning look. We are uncertain who created this drop waisted gown, but we do know it just wasn’t the right fit and the tiara did NOT help.

Julie Bowen

I think Bowen is funny as an actress from the hit show Modern Family however, I her choice in dress was not. There is something about the color block gown by Carolina Herrera that just doesn’t work. The color was great, the print was great, but somehow it just didn’t “mesh well” especially the stitching in the middle.

Raini Rodriguez

Where do we begin? I think this little lady is cute, funny and daring when it comes to her style of dress, however this one is just too out there for me. The mix print of sequins and cheetah with an asymmetrical hem was too much! Also, the gown featured a very thick band at the waist that appeared to make the actress even shorter. Raini is petite with curves and this look just does not spotlight her best assets. Being young, she has plenty of time to evolve her red carpet fashions (This designer is also unknown).

Alfred Woodard

Let me say Woodard is an incredible actress and has been in the acting business for a long time. Now, I don’t know who, what, or why, but she chose this hand beaded bodice gown by Tadashi Shoji. Besides the color not being right, the gown was too long and the square neck line seemed to smush her very busty frame making her appear uncomfortable. Let’s hope Woodward’s next red carpet look is a little better.
