Born: November 18, 1985 in Annapolis, MD of Italian & German descent

*Studied fashion design at Baltimore School for the Arts

-Also studied ballet and custom designs

*Began designing at 13 years old

*Attended American Intercontinental University in London, England

*Moved to NYC after graduating

*Interned for Marc Jacobs and was a freelance make up artist and made wedding gowns

*Became a contestant on Project Runway’s season 4 in 2008 and won

-Received $100,000 to start his own clothing label, Elle magazine spread and a 2008 Saturn Astra

-At the age of 21, he was the youngest contestant of all seasons

*Partnered with Puma Spring 2008  for a 15 piece collection

* Premiered his first collection at NY Fashion Week in September 2008

*In April 2009 created make up line for Victoria’s Secret

*In 2009 co-wrote, “Fierce Style: How To Be Your Most Fabulous Self”

*In 2012 first flagship store opened in Manhattan

-Made an estimated 5 million

*2013 created “Striking by Christian Siriano” that featured affordable and limited pieces on HSN

-pieces included dresses, separates and accessories

*January 2014 worked with Disney to create costumes for the fairies in Pirate Fairy movie

* In September of 2014 released first fragrance called “Silhouette”

 

Fun Fact:

*Designed on season’s 2 episode 15 of “Ugly Betty” show

*Has a tattoo of a squid & octopus on right arm, supposedly a tribute to Maryland and sea life

*Once was a hair washer and stylist assistant for Bubble’s Salon in Annapolis, MD and made clothes for their annual salon hair shows
