Celeb Pick of the Week-Katie Holmes

image

I for one was a little surprised to see Ms. Holmes in this trendy outfit at the  Marc Cain catwalk show hosted by Mercedes Benz in Berlin for Fashion Week on this past Tuesday.   It appears as if she is chanelling her inner Jennifer Lopez or Victoria Beckham with the hat, short dress and over the knee boots, which are a common look for the two. I love each piece, which is straight off the runway from Marc Cain 2015 Fall Collection and it is already a hit!  I think Holmes looks very chíc and sexy and I  hope to see even more unexpected looks from her in this new year!

Cropped Sweater

Cropped sweaters are still popular for the season. You may be wondering why that is considering its cold outside. Well, for some it’s all about showing some skin despite the weather. For others, they can layer the look for a cute and funky style such as the one I am wearing from H&M.

I usually wear my cropped sweater with a white collar shirt underneath.  Depending on my mood,  I may decide to go with a black and white theme or pair it with a colored bottom to give my outfit some life! I will say the camera doesn’t do this sweater justice when it comes to the detailing because it’s all black (you do get a picture up close below). What is your take on the cropped sweater style?

Mello Yellow

Omgeee, what a busy week I have had! It is always tough when you have been gone for a while and then having to get back into the groove of things. I guess it’s like going on vacation and then having to return back to work…no bueno!
Anyway, its no surprise I love my colored skirts. The best part is that they are never too light or too dark and can be worn anytime in the year! 🙂 Have the tried a colors skirt lately?

The Right Shoe for the Right Look

I haven’t met a man yet who wasn’t into shoes. Some have a worthy collection of dress shoes while others have an excessive amount of the “latest” sneakers. Either way, it is important to wear the right shoe for the appropriate attire. So if your shoe game is on point or you are just getting started, here are some tips to guide you along the way!

Trending: Double Pearl Earrings

image

Initially I didn’t know what to think about these, but the more I see them, the more I think I may have to get me a pair! Dior was the first to come out with the “Tribal Double Pearl” style back in mid 2013 as part of their “Mise En Dior” collection. Now a little more than a year later, they are still gaining popularity!

If you desire Dior the prices will set you back anywhere from $600 to $800 because of the demand (which has more than doubled its initial starting amount). However, if you want your own pair (also referred to as the “360 studs”), you can get crafty and check out a YouTube video and DIY. But if that is not your scene, the next step is to go to places like http://www.Etsy.com, http://www.Amazon.com or http://www.Gojane.com for prices starting at $1 and up!

Yes to the Skirt

Finding the right skirt can be a challenge at times, especially if you have a small waist and big hips. Trust me, spandex is very much appreciated by me! I love this particular skirt because it was different than anything else I had in my closet.  I will admit though, initially I thought the skirt might look a little outdated because of the length and the print.

This is why it is important to try things on before deciding whether or not to buy them. Once I tried on this skirt, the fit was amazing! Remember, although presentation is everything, the way an item looks on a hanger is sometimes very different in how it will actually fit. Just think,  I could have missed out on this great look!
