Be Smooth

I love this look! My outfit was on point and my hair was too! Lol. So I have worn this grey top and pant together before, however this time I wanted to add a printed scarf for contrast and my leather jacket for an added “smooth” look! However, I think my best accessory can be seen in the last photo!

Snood-Chíc

When it comes to fashion I love pieces that are different. When I saw this poncho style sweater I immediately fell in love with it! I soon found out that it was called a “snood” because the part that folds over the shoulders can be worn over the head (I rocked this last year in a previous blog post).

Even as that may be,  I don’t ever wear it out over my head. Lol. I think its more of the idea of it being versatile and having that option to wear as a hood. It is super chíc and stylish. Most importantly, its so me!

It Could be “Valentine’s Day” Everyday

image

It has been a minute since I wrote in this section so…here we go! I wanted to talk briefly on one of the most widely celebrated days of the year…Valentine’s Day. I was shocked when a business partner of mine recently stated that the money spent on the love filled day was over $161 million in the West Coast, $141 million in the North East and $116 in the Southern states.

I am happy to hear that so many people had a “Valentine” for the day, however let’s not forget it is just a day. I know some of yall might be mad at that last comment, but it is true. Don’t get me wrong,  there is absolutely nothing wrong with showing a person how much you care by spending money. One of the problems that comes in is when you wait all year round for one day to show your appreciation.

The other problem is when you don’t have the resources to go “all out” and you spend all your money on one day,  to wake up broke the next. If you are in relationship, be honest with yourself and the person you are with. There is nothing wrong with staying at home and keeping things low key.

However, if you have the funds, do you. Just remember there are still 364 days in the year and a little throughout helps to go a long way. I’m so glad that Jesus doesn’t need a day to show us His love that is unconditional and passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Best of all, His love is free. I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine’s Day! 🙂

Celeb Pick of the Week-Blake Lively

Gabriela Cadena Fall/Winter 2015 Runway Show - Front Row & Backstage

Blake Lively is also one of the latest celebrity stars to have just given birth and is looking amazing! Blake’s first major appearance was at the Gabriela Cadena show during New York Fashion Week this past Thursday. Her black and white low cut bodycon dress by Gabriela Cadena featured two zippers down the bottom half, allowing her to adjust for just enough leg!
I have always loved Blake’s style and her great fashion sense. This dress is perfect on her and I especially love the white Christian Louboutin strap up pumps. Lastly, her jacket just over her shoulders and the pop of yellow from her clutch says she is all about mixing a little business with pleasure!

My go to Piece

Ok so you may not know this, but my go to piece for the last couple of months have been this fabulous black leather jacket! I have worn it as part of my outfit throughout the day as opposed to just my “outerwear.” Its definitely a great staple to own that adds a little sass to your look. Also, adding a little color blocking and leather boots aren’t bad either! 😉

Celebrity Pick of the Week-Mila Kunis

mila

Mila gave birth just 4 months ago and here she is looking amazing at the premiere of her new movie, “Jupiter Ascending” in L.A. on this past Monday. Dressed in a bustier semi sheer tiered dress by Dolce & Gabbana and lace shoes by Christian Louboutin, Mila no doubt proved that her red carpet post baby look was sexier than ever! Great job and if the rumors are true, congrats on your wedding Mrs. Kutcher! 🙂
