2nd Annual “A Stylish Affair”

Just a week from today “A Stylish Affair” is back! This year I am so excited to be sharing tips on how to shop, utilizing your current wardrobe and more! My first event was amazing and I got to connect with a lot of great and talented people. The feedback was so positive that I had to do it again in hopes of impowering others.

I truly enjoy shopping for my clients. In doing so I can educate on what works for their body type and bring out their best features. It’s easy to help people look good, but my goal with every client is to help them feel good too. No matter how much make up you wear or expensive clothes you put on, you must not only value yourself, but have the confidence that you are truly more than a conqueror!

Don’t miss this year’s “A Stylish Affair” event where I look forward with the help of special guest, Amanda Eaddy Oliver to inspiring you!  Tickets are only $5 and must be purchased prior to the event at thegokabean.eventbrite.com. See you there!

Military Ch├şc

I may have never served in the military, but I do think I look cute in this military inspired jacket! I love how I can wear it to create several different looks including this one with this fabulous hat! I had been looking for a hat for a while that looked just right and was inexpensive. I found this one unintentionally while shopping for a tank top at Forever21

I bet you can’t guess how much I paid…5 bucks! Yea I was surprised too, especially since they are usually $15 and up. They say good things come to those who wait and I couldn’t agree more!

Victoria Beckham for Target Collaboration

This past Sunday was the reveal of Victoria Beckham’s collobration with Target in store and it was pretty cool! Prior to hitting my local Target I checked out Beckham’s designs online so I had an idea of what I would be seeing. I definitely think that the clothes online did not do the items in store justice! Being able to view the merchandise in person allows you to try it on and most importantly, feel what the fabrication is like.

The collection itself was a nice welcome into Spring providing fresh colors that popped along with prints that brought about the beauty of Nature. Even though I appreciated the ode to Nature,  I’m not a fan of having insects on my clothes and neither was Olivia. She wasnt feeling the bee print and if I had to choose, I would have gone with a ladybug since they don’t sting or chase after you!

In my final observation, I liked how there were “mommy and me” outfits and could definetly see Beckham and her daughter Harper rocking a few of the styles. Especially the ones with the scalloped details. As for me, I got to try on only one dress that Olivia and I could wear together, however it was a little to short and theses hips were not made for the style. I would have tried on a couple more coordinated pieces, however the baby was crying non stop until I picked him up!

Overall, I love Beckham’s style. Kudos for her making her line affordable (price range $6-$70) and in plus sizes going up to a 3X! I did think the kids line was more enjoyable then the women’s, although the fit was about true to size. My daughter however, had to go down two sizes for fit because of how generous the cuts were and she is already tiny (she is almost 5 years old and would have needed a 3T). Nonetheless, below are a few pieces that I thought were adorable on my Muffins.

This last one is my favorite! I may have to order online since her size was not available in store.  What do you think?

Feeling a Little Blue

When I first saw these pants I wasn’t sure whether to get them or not for two reasons. The first reason was they were not a style that I was use to wearing. I admit, when I first saw these pants I didn’t know if they were pajamas or joggers. It wasn’t until I tried them on and found that I loved the fit and the pocket detail, that they were a must have!

The only other problem I had was that they were blue printed. Unless it’s denim, my first choice is not to buy blue because I am always thinking “what do I have that would go with it?” I tried to find other colors that were available and in my size, but the only other option was predominately white with a black print and that was not going to work.

Needless to say, I went ahead and chose the blue print. As you can see, I had no problem finding a top to match! I’m starting to like seeing myself in this shade of blue. What do you think? čśť
