For the Long Run

So I have this jacket that I absolutely adore. It’s an oldie, but goodie (at least 5 years old), yet I still get plenty of compliments when I wear it! I learned a long time ago that it doesn’t matter how “old” a piece is, its about how you take care of it. In addition, it also goes a long way if you invest in the best quality (notice I said “invest,” that does not always mean you have to spend more money)!

I believe I have been able to preserve many pieces of clothing in my closet, because I look for the best when it comes to the material. I hate polyester like most people and I can’t stand wearing an item for the day and then having to deal with pilling. It is possible to get high quality clothes for a low affordable price. You either have to take your time and search around or pay someone else to do the work for you! šŸ˜‰

An Added Piece

This was the perfect look for running errands on a day where the weather was crisp,  but the sun was shining bright. I love a good scarf in this season and I have plenty of them! You may be surprised to learn that I even wear them around the house cause I’m always cold!  Lol. Today’s outfit is plain and simple, yet the accent of a printed scarf makes my look both eye catching and fun!

Blending In

I’m really liking the style of army fatigue. So much so that I really want them in a pair of pants! I have been looking for the past couple of months, but haven’t been able to find a pair that fit just right. So till then (if ever), I will probably be sporting this jacket a little more.
For this particular look,  I wanted to let my jacket do all the talking since its so distinctive (this is why is zipped up). I also added the red low cut tank as seen below just for a little bit of a sexy flare, incase I didn’t want to look like I was just “blending in.” I think my mission was accomplished! Pow👊 What do you think?

From Season to Season

Spring is all about transition. Flowers start to bloom, butterflies begin to fly and in fashion, it’s about taking that fabulous skirt, top or sweater and being able to wear it into the next season for the most wear! I love my cheetah print skirt. I can pair it as is with open toe shoes for Spring or I can add a black sweater, and tights with a pair of booties for Fall. I can also take my burgundy sweater and roll the sleeves and pair it with skinny jeans, a printed peplum blouse and sandals. Before you put all your last season’s clothes into storage, what can you transition?

Dolman Style

A dolman sleeve is sure to bring life to any outfit. It’s fun, it’s funky and it’s different! I love this one because it is light weight and I can dress it up with slacks, a pair of harem pants, leggings or skinny jeans! How do you wear your dolman?

Springing Forward!

Can someone get this girl a pair of sunglasses??? Lol. The recent warm and cold temperatures have been messing with my head! Just the other day it was bright and sunny reaching  a high of 70Ā° and I nearly left the house with no coat!  It’s times like that I want to go to the park with the family and feed the ducks, but I think I’ll have to wait for two reasons:

1) This is crazy flu like weather and I refuse to be deceived.

2) Probably the most important, if the ducks aren’t back yet, it’s a clear indicator not to jump the gun.

Until then, I will take whatever sunshine that comes my way and dress responsibly. I hope you will too! šŸ™‚

Striping Up

I have always liked stripes, whether it was on a shirt, cute skirt or even on a pair of pants. With that being said, I never really liked them on me. Well, that was until I found this cute and fun top! I like the darker striped colors and the fact it opens on the sides is a plus! Now as a mom, this top is not very functionable chasing after toodler kids. However, on a bright and sunny day, its great if your out and about or hanging with the girls. Go ahead…be a little daring!
