May ended up being a good I month. I had some challenges and I also had some wins. I’m thankful for the new people that I have met as well as the new doors that God has already opened. It’s time to go to the next level not just in business, but in life. Of course, with every step I intend to stay fashionable and in style! 😉
This is the second time I’m wearing this gorgeous leopard print midi that I received as a gift from my sis. If you remember, I wore it last season with a black mock neck tucked in with tights and booties. However, now that the weather is warmer, I decided to break it out and add a pop color!
I chose a coral ruched blouse that can be adjusted to wear long or short. I also wanted to dress up my skirt for an”office chíc” sort of look so I included a sequined trimmed blazer for a little bling! Lastly, a girl can’t forget her shades. Transitional look… accomplished! Which of your favorite pieces have you transitioned lately?

Like many of you, I celebrated the Memorial Day weekend by hanging out with family and friends enjoying a great cookout! We actually had so much food left over it was crazy! On a serious note, I do try to keep in mind the purpose of each holiday as it passes through the years and reflect on its impact today. For some who may not know, Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day back in 1868 and is said to have begun after the Civil War where women in the Southern states would decorate the graves of fallen Union and Confederate soldiers. It began to catch on and sometime after WW2 the name was changed to Memorial Day and would occur every year on May 30th because that is when the flowers would be in full bloom and leading into summer.
In 1971, Congress decided that the day would become an official day of observance to be recognized on the last Monday every year in May for all those that served and died in a US war. Like many of our other holidays, the date may change from year to year and can make it hard to keep track of. However, no matter the date, I appreciate the fact that we as a nation choose to recognize those men and women who fought so passionately and have lost their lives. I pray that everyone takes a little time to remember those who were fallen so they are not forgotten. May God continue to have a blessed and safe Memorial!

I love when I am able to see my family in Northern VA. It’s almost like being a kid again! When your home nothing seems to matter. Mom literally gives you everything you need and if your a “daddy’s girl,” you get everything you want!
I also love going back now that I have a family because my children get to play and bond with their cousins. It’s a feeling that I never want to loose nor forget… it’s the feeling of home.
Pictured below is my mom and lil sis who are both fashionistas in their own right! 😀

Imagine my surprise when my sister-in-law gave me this little number as my Mothers Day gift! For her first time picking out clothes for me, she did a pretty good job! You can’t tell from the picture but the dress is actually coral.
Also, for whatever reason my camera phone has started picking up these annoying dots that appear in some of my pictures. Ugh, you just never know when it will appear, as it has a mind of its own! Nonetheless, those dots ain’t got nothing on me lol. I’m still smiling and still looking good!!! Can we say date night? 😉

My husband always has something to say when he has to take my pictures in the house. At the same time he always has something to say about taking pictures directly outside of the house. He just doesn’t want “everyone seeing where he lives” so he says ;-). Personally, I don’t like taking pictures in the house or its surrounding. If I had my way, we would be downtown or in a field somewhere!
However, when your left with a husband who is either always hungry or is busy when it’s camera time, whats a girl to do? I love my husband and his efforts he makes, but having a real photographer who can tell me when I should turn this way or move my hand that way would work wonders. Anywoo, until then, enjoy these lovely shots by the hubby…I feel a comment coming! LOL

Mothers Day must have been very good if I am writing about it three days later… well that and just being busy over the last week! Each year celebrating the event gets better and better. Although the gifts are nice, it’s about the fact that I have two beautiful children that need and depend on me daily and they call me mom.
The ability to love and care for a child is far deeper and meaningful then simply sharing the same blood. Today there are many young girls and women birthing children and have to depend on someone else to raise their child for one reason or another. I’m so thankful that no matter the struggle, my mom raised me with the help of a supportive husband! Whoever raised you, be thankful and know that it could have been another way. Happy’s Mother’s Day to all moms, not just the assigned Sunday, but everyday! 🙂
