Trending: Bodysuits

Though summer is vastly coming to end, a trend that can still can be worn and transitioned into the next season are bodysuits. Often referred to as an adult “onsie,” they are super easy to wear and stylish enough to be worn several different ways. Whether you wear them with shorts for a casual look or dressed up under a power suit, they will complete any look!

You also can choose between the one’s you step into and the ones that snap at the crotch. I personally would go for the snap option because when you got to go, you got to go! 😉 Plus, if you wearing one during the cold season, why get completely undressed?  If your interested in checking out a few affordable styles, here are some that are just a click away!

Floral, Black & White

One of my favorite stable pieces is my closet is my chambray button up shirt. There are so many different looks I can create whether I’m going for a casual or semi dress look. I decided to pull out this floral black and white circle skirt that I bought from Wal-mart sometime ago if you can believe it. I don’t wear it often, but when I have, it would always be paired back to a black top, ballet flats for the Fall.

Just when I had made up in my mind to give the skirt away, I started thinking about how I could give it a totally different look. Thus you have the chambray shirt, strappy wedges and fun accessories. I am pretty pleased with the look that literally took me 5 minutes to create, however the verdict is still out whether I’m going to keep it. What do you think?

Trending: The Black Jumpsuit

What are some of the hottest celebrities rocking that is easy to wear, fits every body type and super sexy?

image

The black jumpsuit! I like to think of the style as the cousin to the romper. 🙂 Even though they are both easy to wear, if your someone who doesn’t like to show a lot of leg, the pant jumpsuit is a great alternative. With so many variations of color, prints and fabrications, it’s important to choose the one that will be the most flattering on you.

Helpful Tips:

*If you are small in the middle, you will look great in jumpsuit that cinches at the waist or add a belt

*If your fuller in the middle try to find one without cinching or has a lower drop

*Want a more slimming look? Choose one with a narrow leg, particularly if it has a blousy top half

*Lastly, a halter style is great on everyone especially if you have broad shoulders to give a more proportioned look

I personally just love how chíc and versatile the look can be. It’s definitely my favorite must have for the season whether in the color black or not. If I could wear a different one everyday I certainly would! 😝

Whats your take on the black jumpsuit?

Trending: Neon Nails

So which nail color is hot for the summer you ask?  Anything neon of course! Whether it is a simple coat of polish or a fancy design, a neon  color is your chance to express yourself and have some fun! I never thought about using neon colors on my nails up until two years. I don’t do it often, but I definitely think it is fun every once in a while just for a little pop!  One of my favorites I like to do is this neon pink shade. What do you think?

Trending: The Fanny Pack

image

Ok so the fanny pack trend is definitely one that you have been popping up with some of your favorite celebrities lately. Just last week Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showed his love for the fanny from back in the day by releasing a picture that captured everything 90’s in one shot! Now, I think “The Rock” looks good in just about anything, but fanny pack is one style he can do without!

So what is so cool about the fanny pack? Well if your a girl, it’s the fact that you can carry everything you need hands free! This is very useful when at a club, jogging or just wanting to make a stylish statement! I remember my Jansport fanny from back in the day and feeling like I was one of the coolest kids in the world! With so many stylish variations today, I wouldn’t mind getting another, especially if it was ultra cute like the lavender Chanel one Rihanna rocked this past spring!!!

Trending: Waist Training

I don’t know if you have noticed, but women more than ever are trying to obtain an “hour glass” figure with the help a familiar garment that originated in the 1600’s called a corset. Simply put, women are wearing corsets for long periods in a day and even sleeping in them to “train” their waist to become smaller than before.  The question is how far is to far and can this cause potential damage to your body in the process?

Several celebrities have admitted to waist training and have displayed it for the world to see via social media such as Khloe Kardashian. Last month she posted a picture wearing her corset and thanked big sister Kim’s good friend, Blac Chyna for introducing and getting her hooked on the new trend.

image

As you can tell in the picture below, Blac Chyna has a barely there waist making her chest and bottom half stick out more. When I see this picture (like many), I’m wondering why someone would allow their stomach to get that tiny and is there an addiction to the method?

image

Last year a doctor by the name of Sara Gottfried was on ABC News and addressed the use of wearing corsets 24 hours a day. “Namely, it will be squeezing your ribs so much that you can’t take a deep breath. Corsets can squish your lungs by 30 to 60 percent, making you breathe like a scared rabbit. They can also put a kink in your organs and cause constipation.”

Cathie Jung holds the Guinness Book of World Records for having the smallest waist in the world at 15 inches! Jung has worn a tight laced corset everyday (except when she showers) for over 25 years. She has admitted that her stomach is now pushed down and other organs like her kidneys up. Her husband who is a orthopedic doctor and performs x-rays on her regularly, claims that she is perfectly healthy and outside of occasionally not being able to sit in really low chairs, she if fine.

image

Okay, now its time for my personal synopsis! I don’t have problem with the use of corsets…as long as is not going deform the outside appearance of your natural shape or cause health problems. I wore a slip on corset style after I had my daughter to help my stomach return to its shape, but it was nowhere near as uncomfortable as the other ones pictured and have known to be. I also didn’t where it every minute of everyday (which may be the reason why it took me a while to lose that tummy)! Although I do believe it can help with back problems and posture, I don’t think almost having the waist the size of CD is attractive or healthy by any means.

If you do choose to waist train, please do so with care. Like with anything your trying out for the first time, do your research. There are videos and instructors that can show you how to properly waist train. With that being said, there is no other way of naturally getting getting a smaller waist than through good diet and exercise.

Those of you who do waist train or know someone who does, what are your thoughts?

Trending: Barely There

Now I don’t have a problem with the phrase, “If you got it, flaunt it,” however at what point is flaunting “it” just too much? Nowadays, it’s as if the stars are battling it out on the red carpet of who can show the most skin. When I have to question whether your wearing underwear or not, that is a problem! Ms. Kendall Jenner seems like she has been wearing a lot of questionable looks, especially since turning 18. She recently stepped out in this Fausto Puglisi gown that was a risque hipping baring dress that raised several eyebrows and left many by surprise. This would have been an even more sexier gown had the hip baring splits actually stopped mid thigh.

image

Earlier in the month, Rhianna aka “RiRi” wore this sheer see through gown by Adam Selam to the CFDA Fashion Awards in which she was honored for being a fashion icon. Although RiRi has always been pushing the envelop with her fashion, this outfit…or lack thereof is on a whole other level. From an artistic look, the Swarovski gown that used over 200,000 crystals is remarkable, but it either should have had built in slip or should just be worn in the bedroom.

Other celebrities who have been spotted wearing the trend include:

image

Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis, also turned a few heads when  she wore this side cut out skirt by Franziska Fox to the ELLE 5th Annual Women in Music concert back in April.

image

Rapper Iggy Azalea wore this black gown crotch high splitting gown to the 2013 Amsterdam MTV Music Awards back in November. Her dress was by John Galliano and although she appears to not have any underwear on, she said it was taped and she wasn’t “that stupid.”

image

Jaime Alexander also went sheer in her Azzaro gown to her Thor: Dark World movie premiere also in November of 2013. She too claim she had something on that was like underwear and that she used toupee tape to keep it in place.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me and I’m being over the top about this new “trend.” Don’t get me wrong, I like to show a little skin…appropriately. However, where do you draw the line? Especially once you start getting older, or become a mom you have to think about how it’s going to effect other people in your lives. When your a celebrity you instantly become a role model to someone somewhere. I’m not saying you should live your life based on other people thoughts, but you should live it respectively and honoring yourselves. Sooo not with this trend. What do you think?
