Is it Fall Yet?

I don’t know about you, but for me, there were several days in the past few weeks in which felt like Fall like temperatures.  Even though Fall doesn’t officially kick off until September 22nd, it’s not too early to begin transitioning your pieces (especially if you are someone like me who is always cold ๐Ÿ˜‰). So what’s the key to being able to transition??? Layer! Layer! Layer!

There are literally no rules when it comes to carrying a certain piece to the next season. You could wear that cute summer printed dress and pair some leggings, a cardigan sweater, scarf with knee high boots! The same can be done with trouser style shorts with a pair of tights, a slightly oversized sweater and booties!

As you transition your look into this next particular season, think warm! If you are not sure if you can make the transition google and find out what is being paired with what you have. Ex. Google “Cardigan and tank dresses.” This will give you several different  looks to be worn. Take a look and see how I created 3 complete Fall looks using one summer dress!

Which is your favorite?

I wasn’t too sure what to title this one so it’s “untitled” lol. Furthermore, no long paragraphs to proceed. In short, I saw this outfit online at H&M when shopping for my birthday a couple of months ago and I just had to have it. The end!  ๐Ÿ˜œ

A Stylish Affair Recap

A week ago today I had my 2nd Annual A Stylish Affair Event and it was amazing! I got to share information  about shopping with a game plan and the importance of not having a closet full of “what if’s.”  I also had a fun with my guests by having a few of them participate in a little trivia (test your skills when I post the questions later)! Last, but not least, I had a fashion show demonstrating how you can get the most out of your closet.

This included a “3 in 1 Experience,” where I persoanally went to the homes of my two models and created 3 different looks using one key piece! I can say as long as I have been personal styling and doing closet assessments, I’m always amazed at what  looks are an obvious pairing to me, but are not for my clients. I truly enjoy showing people how to create looks using what they already own and nothing gives me more satisfaction then hearing my clients tell me that they “never would have thought to put these pieces together.”

Remember what you buy is an investment. So make sure you are invested in the right pieces! Lastly, clearing out your closet is not only a way for you to rid yourself of the unnecessary, but also a cleansing process. You never know what blessings await you when you just let go. Check out more up and coming posts of what was shared at the event throughout the week!

A Stylish Affair: What she Wore

When it came down to me finding a cute and flirty dress for my event, I knew I would be able to find one at Forever21. Everytime I go into the store I see nothing but a sea of colors. I went to a few of my other favorites stores prior that included H&M and New York & Co. and of course I bought nothing needed for my event! Lol. I will say that the items I did buy were definitely needed basics for the Fall season and were on sale!

I also did not find my dress until literally the day before, which I know is last minute but I like to think I work well under pressure! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m not a huge fan of asymmetrical dresses, yet when I saw this one and it was also an easy wearing wrap style, I needed to have it! Talk about stepping out and trying something new (I also think the older I get, the more I am prone to revisiting styles I didn’t think I could wear).

What do you think?

Colors of Spring 2017

Just incase you didn’t know, it’s officially Spring!!! Even though the weather has been flopping back and forth, my prediction is that we will have no more snow and those “Spring-like” temperatures will start to be more consistent over the next week ( at least I hope lol)! If you have been in the shopping lately you will have noticed that Spring is in full effect in all your major department stores. Knowing what styles to wear this season is just part of it.

Knowing what colors to wear is the other! According to Pantone Forecaste, the following will be the top 10 colors for this Spring:

Island Paradise

Pale Dogwood

Pink Yarrow

All of these beautiful colors are right on trend and are sure to turn heads! I just  looove Pink Yarrow, Primrose and Greenery (reminds me a of cute velour purse I got from Banana Republic years ago)! Did I also mention that Greenery  is also the chosen color of the year inspired by none other, nature ๐Ÿ˜‰. Looks like it’s time to going shopping!

What colors will you be rocking this Spring?

Mother & Daughter Gala

What a time we had at the 3rd Annual Mother & Daughter Gala hosted by Virtuous Women Empowering Ministries by way of Kingdom Love Ministries Church. The event was filled with entertainment that ranged from African dancing, spoken word and a powerful inspirational message from First Lady Staci Fuller. This year theme was “masquerade.” One would think it was about dressing up and wearing your best custom mask awaiting when it was time to reveal who you were. This was sort of the case.

The wearing of the mask was optional, however the powerful message behind wearing the mask  was one that all could relate to. It was about how we all go through life at some point wearing a mask to shield something in which we don’t want others to see because of fear of what others may say.  Some may come in the form of  unforgiveness, giving into peer pressure or even dealing with depression as First Lady Fuller shared of her own experience. This time was about revealing what was under the mask and admitting what your faults or needs were and recognizing the need for help.

Not just getting professional help, but spiritual help from our Lord and Savior. The message was not for just our older women, but our younger too who allow things like the media to shape them into the opposite of what God have called them to be. We learned self love and to honor one another as women and those up and coming. Overall it was a great time shared with family, friends and a new found sisterhood.

    Warm, Cozy and Chรญc

Who says that this Winter season you can’t dress warm and still look good at the same time? This is why I love my oldie, but goody, snood! Lol. This poncho like sweater has been amazing over the years because it has not only kept me warm, but has also been a stylish fashion accessory allowing me to wear it more than one way.

I have not only worn my snood dressed up for work, but for a business casual look with trouser jeans, boots and a long sleeve tee. I have also worn it over my head in place of a hat. I just love the versatility and the fact that it’s a style anyway can wear is a plus! I’m all about those statement pieces and this one was well worth the investment!
