Things That Make You Go Mmmm…

So I don’t get it. What’s going on with making of denim these days? Over the last month I have seen denim, in my opinion, at its worst. Personally, I love a great relaxed pair of boyfriend denim jeans with tasteful deconstruction. Nowadays, there is nothing tasteful, tactful or presentable about some of the denim out there. To top it off, some of these styles are designer brands costing upward of $1000!

Personally I just can’t make sense of spending a $1000 or even $20 for a 1/3 of a jean. If I were into any of the above styles, you better believe I would by the cheapest pair of jeans I could find and DIY! I get that as time goes on that change is expected with fashion and looks tend to get reinvented. However, where do you draw the line of inappropriate and just silly?

How do you feel about the above styles? Would you wear them and if so where to?

Warm, Cozy and Chíc

Who says that this Winter season you can’t dress warm and still look good at the same time? This is why I love my oldie, but goody, snood! Lol. This poncho like sweater has been amazing over the years because it has not only kept me warm, but has also been a stylish fashion accessory allowing me to wear it more than one way.

I have not only worn my snood dressed up for work, but for a business casual look with trouser jeans, boots and a long sleeve tee. I have also worn it over my head in place of a hat. I just love the versatility and the fact that it’s a style anyway can wear is a plus! I’m all about those statement pieces and this one was well worth the investment!

What are your favorite stylish piece this season?

Nothing New

It’s always great we you can pull out an old piece of yours and pair it with another old piece and still create an awesome look! I am all about that life, especially when you are a mom of three and a wife with a whole house and responsibilities like myself. It’s not easy to just “splurge” on yourself when you want to. That’s why it’s important to invest in the right key pieces when it comes to your wardrobe.

It’s not always about paying a lot to have the best quality in a product because I have bought some designer brands that were the cutest styles made out of the cheapest of fabrics. Even worse, after 2-3 wears, I am left with a pilling garment! When buying the right pieces, making sure to rotate them are also key because like anything you may love, you don’t want over use and have to throw it out sooner than later!

Night Out

Last night the hubby and I had our first “night out,” since having Josiah. We actually went to celebrate our friends’ evening wedding in Virginia Beach. Of course, I wanted to lose what little was left of my “baby weight,” however chocolate chip cookies and lemonade didn’t help me get very far! Thankfully I had this oldie but goodie dress that worked out perfect!

Just to give y’all a look into my night, it appeared like everything was working out great, until it was time to leave. The baby was sleepy and would not stay sleep. I did get him to take some milk to settle him down before I left however, you know that saying,”nothing lasts forever?” How about nothing last for more than 2 1/2 hours!

My sister-in-law called twice to let me know that the Josiah had not stopped crying when we had left and would not take his bottle. The dude was hungry and sleepy. She didn’t know what else to do and neither did I so we ended up leaving for home literally after the main course!

Needless to say just after we returned home, guess who was wide awake and no longer crying??? As if he had been playing us the whole time, he looked at his aunt (after my husband took him from her) and smiled. So much for a night out!

Cozy Chíc

The weather has been on both sides of the spectrum recently and honestly that’s alright by me. I love feeling warm and cozy and this shawl sweater I received as a birthday gift from the kids is just that! It also went perfect with my favorite pants that I don’t get to wear often because it is actually too big when I am not trying to lose baby weight 😁.

Post Baby

So here it is, my post baby body. I must say, this third pregnancy had me started at the smallest weight and ending the biggest! I have already lost just over 20lbs and still have a good amount to go since having Josiah nearly 5 weeks ago. So what can I attribute the weight loss too? I think it’s a little of everything.

I can’t say it was all nursing because I nursed all of my children and I remember thinking with my first that someone was lying about it burning calories. With my second child, I can say I did loose the extra weight a lot quicker. I think it also was due to the fact that I am a snacker and if I had the choice between food or sleep, I chose sleep (still so to this day).

Even with that being so, I have been drinking lots of water throughout the day and night (normally I would not drink as much). Lastly, I gave birth to a 7.2lbs baby and all the extra stuff that came along with him. So as I said before, I think it’s a little of everything. In the next couple of weeks I will kick it up a notch by getting into the gym!

Y’all ain’t ready! 😜
