Confident

I love helping people feel good by looking great on the outside and boosting their confidence. However, notice I said “boosting.” Having self confidence in my opinion is not something that a person gives you, but helps you to expose what you already possess. It’s about being able to recognize it and to be willing to make some changes.

Change is not something that is always something easy to do, yet it needs to be done in order for you to grow and reach your potential. At the end of the day, I can help you look like a million bucks, but if you don’t think you are worth it, no one will believe you are either. You need to tap into the things that make you feel alive and worth living.

Be encouraged by motivational messages from speakers like Lisa Nichols and Tony Robbins and others. If all else fails, you have the Word of God. The Bible is your instruction for life and in it you can find encouragement. Pray and ask God who He has called you to be and don’t be afraid to be bold and be confident walking in it!

Something Good

Mannnn, how I miss not having to worry about the humidity and frizzing much less do anything to my hair with these faux locs. I also didn’t mind all the lovely compliments too! ๐Ÿ˜‰ For years I have had people tell me my hair would be great for locking. I can say I fell in love with this style and it suits me however, don’t look for me locking my actual hair anytime soon folks!

I’m trying to plan the next time to do them between work, house work and watching my little buggers (last time it literally was an all day event with me doing them)! Anyone want to help? ๐Ÿ˜† I’m also calling out my sister in law Jolita Fountain for the challenge to tag team once again (Oh and by the way she makes faux loc wigs too if your interested)!!!!!  If not this style, I’m looking for a fun up do, any ideas????

Shout outs to my little man Lamar for being my photographer ๐Ÿ˜˜.

My Top Stylish Places to Shop on a Budget

When it comes to shopping there are s few places that I like to check out for deals. The first is H&M. I love H&M mainly for its wear to work pieces. I find that the colors are not too loud and tend to cater to several work appropriate looks! I also love how there are several contemporary looking styles and they have just enough flare for the look I want to portray (especially online)!

My second favorite store is Forever21. I love how when I walk into the store there is nothing but a sea of colors and prints under bright lights! Its almost as if I have no choice, but to be happy when I walk in to the place! This is definetly a store to come to when your looking for something fun and flirty. I also know that if I can’t find my size in one style, there is a TON of alternatives to choose from!

NY & Co. is another place I enjoy shopping in everyone once in a while whether for myself or a client because of their great deals. I especially like their cute jewelry and sandals! It is also a great place to get deals on capri’s and dresses for business casual looks and majority of the time you can buy one and get one half off!

Next favorite store to shop is Burlington Coat Factory. When it comes to dresses, particularly for special occasions, this is the place to go. Funny thing is I always think about this store last when I need to find a dress and it’s after I have wasted time shopping g around at other stores. Smh. This store closely reminds of shopping at Marshalls and TJ Maxx, however I think Burlington has the better deals!

Last, but not least, shopping at Target is a great way to get designer looks (and brand names when they are partnered) at an inexpensive price! I never knew about Target styles until one day I complimented someone on a top that I thought was BCBG and was told it came from Target for $12! SN: If your are planning a trip to the beach with family like I am, they have bathing suits on sale for a steal of a deal!

Now that you know my favorite places to shop while on a budget, what are yours?

Untitled.ย

I wasn’t too sure what to title this one so it’s “untitled” lol. Furthermore, no long paragraphs to proceed. In short, I saw this outfit online at H&M when shopping for my birthday a couple of months ago and I just had to have it. The end!  ๐Ÿ˜œ

A Stylish Affair Recap

A week ago today I had my 2nd Annual A Stylish Affair Event and it was amazing! I got to share information  about shopping with a game plan and the importance of not having a closet full of “what if’s.”  I also had a fun with my guests by having a few of them participate in a little trivia (test your skills when I post the questions later)! Last, but not least, I had a fashion show demonstrating how you can get the most out of your closet.

This included a “3 in 1 Experience,” where I persoanally went to the homes of my two models and created 3 different looks using one key piece! I can say as long as I have been personal styling and doing closet assessments, I’m always amazed at what  looks are an obvious pairing to me, but are not for my clients. I truly enjoy showing people how to create looks using what they already own and nothing gives me more satisfaction then hearing my clients tell me that they “never would have thought to put these pieces together.”

Remember what you buy is an investment. So make sure you are invested in the right pieces! Lastly, clearing out your closet is not only a way for you to rid yourself of the unnecessary, but also a cleansing process. You never know what blessings await you when you just let go. Check out more up and coming posts of what was shared at the event throughout the week!
