Red Red Wine

Ok so I’m not a drinker, but I love the color of red wine (and the song lol)! In other words, I love a deep red color. Growing up my mother always wore her favorite lipstick called “wine.” When I was old enough,  to wear make up I naturally wanted to wear her wine colored lipstick too!

I thought that the color looked so good on me that I wore it every chance I got. I even had a roommate in college have an intervention because I wore one particular wine colored turtle neck sweater too much! 😁 As I have gotten older,  I have tried to wear other shades of red,  however nothing compares or looks as good as red red wine.

What is your favorite shade of red?

Summer Nights

The other night I got the pleasure to hear my husband speak at an event downtown called “Motivate.” The event was great because it brought people in the community together on all levels. There was singing, dancing, poetry, vendors of all kinds and my favorite motivational speaker, my hubby. Of course once the show was over and the mingling was done, it was time to take some pictures! Since it was downtown I couldn’t resist, plus I have been wanting some new scenery so why not add a little graffiti in the background for some edge right? 🙂 Thanks for the pictures Kettia they came out great!

SN: I love this outfit! Anytime your wearing the color red, coral and orange especially on darker skin tones it makes a bold and beautiful statement! I also love this top because of the ruching and the ability to hide the “extra” in the middle! LOL

Celebrity Pick of the Week-Scarlett Johansson

Talk about a lady in red! Scarlett looked amazing in her 2 piece pant suit by Michael Kors earlier this week while promoting her movie, Captin America: The Winter Soldier in Paris. I love this updated modern menswear look featuring black lapel collarless jacket and ankle cropped slim pant. I think the added open toe metallic sandals gave it the perfect touch! Wait, did you see her clutch? OMG got to have it! Her look is not only bold, but beautiful and she has it down packed!

Celeb Pick of the Week-Lupita Nyong’o

Ok so it should be no surprise who my favorite “Celeb Pick of the Week” was! This beautiful lady did her thing on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Even though she didn’t win a globe for her film 12 Years A Slave, she did pick up Best Supporting Actress from the Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards just a couple of days ago! I am so proud of Lupita and all of her accomplishments thus far and truly believe this is just the beginning for her. Keep inspiring us Lupita! Her designer red cape gown was by Ralph Lauren.
