Naturalista

I decided to bless y’all with some more of my favorite earth tone colors! Keeping it sophisticated and chíc, I decided to pair my new off the shoulder top from H&M with my favorite boyfriend jean. I added my signature lip color and few coordinating pieces and voila! I’m ready to start my day off…fashionably! 😂

My Top Stylish Places to Shop on a Budget

When it comes to shopping there are s few places that I like to check out for deals. The first is H&M. I love H&M mainly for its wear to work pieces. I find that the colors are not too loud and tend to cater to several work appropriate looks! I also love how there are several contemporary looking styles and they have just enough flare for the look I want to portray (especially online)!

My second favorite store is Forever21. I love how when I walk into the store there is nothing but a sea of colors and prints under bright lights! Its almost as if I have no choice, but to be happy when I walk in to the place! This is definetly a store to come to when your looking for something fun and flirty. I also know that if I can’t find my size in one style, there is a TON of alternatives to choose from!

NY & Co. is another place I enjoy shopping in everyone once in a while whether for myself or a client because of their great deals. I especially like their cute jewelry and sandals! It is also a great place to get deals on capri’s and dresses for business casual looks and majority of the time you can buy one and get one half off!

Next favorite store to shop is Burlington Coat Factory. When it comes to dresses, particularly for special occasions, this is the place to go. Funny thing is I always think about this store last when I need to find a dress and it’s after I have wasted time shopping g around at other stores. Smh. This store closely reminds of shopping at Marshalls and TJ Maxx, however I think Burlington has the better deals!

Last, but not least, shopping at Target is a great way to get designer looks (and brand names when they are partnered) at an inexpensive price! I never knew about Target styles until one day I complimented someone on a top that I thought was BCBG and was told it came from Target for $12! SN: If your are planning a trip to the beach with family like I am, they have bathing suits on sale for a steal of a deal!

Now that you know my favorite places to shop while on a budget, what are yours?

Untitled.

I wasn’t too sure what to title this one so it’s “untitled” lol. Furthermore, no long paragraphs to proceed. In short, I saw this outfit online at H&M when shopping for my birthday a couple of months ago and I just had to have it. The end!  😜

Bootie vs. Shootie

image

How well do you know the difference? If you are like me, for a long time I wasn’t aware there was a difference between the “bootie” and the “shootie” when the term was introduced a few years ago. However, once I discovered how they were different it made sense!

So what is the difference you may ask?  Simply put, a shootie is a blend of a boot and a shoe and is shorter than the bootie and hits at the ankle or below. They are a little fashion forward and also usually dressier.

In my opinion, whether it’s the bootie or the shootie, both looks are hot,  hot, hot!  Just ask these celebrities!

Zendaya and Gwen Stefani rock two very different styles of the bootie.

While Olivia Palermo and Zoe Saldana love the shootie!

C. U.T.E Boutique Grand Opening

image

Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening for C.U.T.E Boutique in downtown Richmond from 7-10pm. I was there to support friend, Vanita Baugh who after several months of prepping, was finally ready to open the doors of her very stylish and trendy consignment shop! It was a fun filled night of picture taking, music, networking, makeovers, sweet treats, drinks and of course shopping!

The entire set up was catered to that girly girl who thrives only on the best at an affordable price. The pink decor and black and white set up made it seem like you were shopping in posh style luxury closet! There was truly something for everyone with sizes ranging from 0-16 in clothing and 5-11 in shoes. Not to mention, the array of accessories, jewelry and handbags! As the night grew on, more and more people turned up for affair. For some, this may have just been a store opening, but for many of us there, it was a celebration of achievement and seeing hard work being paid off.

One of my favorite things that I thought was special about the shop was this wall of style encouragement that you saw as soon as you entered the shop. Whether you read quotes like, “God is a designer” or “Its not about brand, its about style,” one could find something to use in their everyday life. My favorite, “Style: because your personality isn’t the first thing possible see,” um yeah that couldn’t be anymore truer!

Oh and what’s this? Did someone win a raffle? I did…I think! See  my cousin Lakeysha who also attended the event, received a ticket and gave it to me b/c she was about to leave. Well, of course as soon as she gave it to me I didn’t know which one was whose, so we agreed to split the prize if one of us one. I heard the prize was a C.U.T.E tee shirt and if that’s the case somebody might be disappointed! If it’s my size you know I will be styling it on the blog!  🙂 Congrats again on all your success Vanita!!!

If you are interested in becoming a consignor with C.U.T.E Boutique or simply want to check out the shop they are located at:

Ready for Combat

For my birthday I decided to venture out and try some new styles and army fatigue was on the top of the list! Now I did own the print in a capri pant back in the day and one thing I have learned is that this style never gets old. I have also realized that this print is not just for the awesome men and women who serve our country or those who love the great outdoors, but for anyone who wants to make a statement. Today I’m saying this girl is fun, flirty with a little bit of edge! What is your statement?
