I strongly believe that fashion is all about self expression. You know the phrase, “First impressions are everything,” well they may not be EVERYTHING, but they definitely will have you wondering! Now sometimes even the most well dressed have their days in which they just don’t feel like getting dressed and just want to be comfortable without all the “extra” stuff. However, dressing comfortable doesn’t mean that you have to look like you don’t care about your look.
Take my photo on the left for instances, if you never met me or knew anything about me, what would be your first impression? Now what about the second photo? Which looks well put together? Sophisticated? Business like? Fashionable? I hope that everyone agreees that look #2 is the best and hopefully it says “I’m about my business!”
At the end of the day, no matter how you look, someone is always going to have a comment to say. If you are dressed too nice the question then becomes, “where does she think she’s going?” If not dressed up enough the question then is, “what was she thinking?” In any event, my personal motto is that I would rather be overdressed knowing I look good then being under dressed and not presenting myself at my best.
Always remember to dress with a purpose. Dress the message you want to convey. A little accessories and makeup can go a long way. You can be running errands and still look good doing them. Workout clothes are so fashionable now they could literally be worn almost anywhere!
Looks aren’t everything, but if first impressions truly are your first impressions. Do you know what your look is conveying? Be confident, smile and know that what you wear is also telling a story…your story. 😉

I love when I can put together and outfit on a whim and feel amazing in it! I wore this look to my oldest niece’s graduation recently. This was the first time wearing the jumpsuit since receiving it as a birthday gift from my little sister and I almost forgot I had it!
Initially when I tried the outfit on, it was a little snug (bless God the baby wait is continuing to shed). I am almost to my pre baby weight and can’t wait to fit in everything comfortably again! Additionally, what better way to make a black and white outfit stand out? By adding a pop of color of course! Y’all ain’t ready! 😉

Like most of my titles that describe either what I am wearing or how I am feeling, this one is no different. I am literally going with the flow. At times it can be challenging trying to find what to wear as you progress in pregnancy because one day your clothes fit perfectly and the next, they don’t. Instead of getting frustrated though, turn to those easy to wear pieces that require little to no effort. In this case, you can never go wrong with a pair of black pull on pants, a fun top, a cardigan and comfortable shoes!

I enjoy going though my closet and throwing outfits together and even moreso when its a look that is not so matchy matchy. For some this might not be out there, but for others like myself, this is just enough! For the wedding I attended, it was super cold and windy therefore, short and sleeveless was out of the question! My goal was not only to be warm, but to look chíc and inspiring too!
I think my mission was accomplished, what about you?

I love this look! My outfit was on point and my hair was too! Lol. So I have worn this grey top and pant together before, however this time I wanted to add a printed scarf for contrast and my leather jacket for an added “smooth” look! However, I think my best accessory can be seen in the last photo!

When it comes to fashion I love pieces that are different. When I saw this poncho style sweater I immediately fell in love with it! I soon found out that it was called a “snood” because the part that folds over the shoulders can be worn over the head (I rocked this last year in a previous blog post).
Even as that may be, I don’t ever wear it out over my head. Lol. I think its more of the idea of it being versatile and having that option to wear as a hood. It is super chíc and stylish. Most importantly, its so me!
